what is this thing we call privacy?

You may think you have privacy when you set privacy options on you social networking accounts but these are not true. There is no such thing as privacy on the internet, you submit something for one person and the whole world can see it. Lately it has even gotten worst, you can Google search anyone and all of this information comes up about them. You can see all of these pictures that are on their wall or profile. Also with just a click you can see what sports they play and their stats.

To me that is crazy, I don’t remember ever signing anything that says they can post pictures of me playing volleyball. And they have all of my stats from playing. Also, they have quotes that I said. I find this very concerning not because I said anything bad but the fact that I said this to one person and now the whole world can see it. And they know what I look like even without being my friend any one can search me and who knows what.

I goggled myself and found so much information about me, things that I said that I don’t even remember ever saying. I understand that people have online articles and what not but I never knew that everyone could read them. I believe that the main thing we need to do is become a lot more aware of what is happening to us due to social networks. So many times we are so fast to post a picture, but we have to stop and think about how this will reflect us.

  1. This is so weird that you found quotes from you that you never said. I think that is very creepy but it happens all the time with any media. It is weird how everything is so connected and once you do something, its basically out there for the world to see. There really is no privacy anymore but we have become adapted to it.

  2. i found this really interesting. I really don't post that much on facebook, but i have friends who do. And the whole googling yourself is a really good way to see how clean a person is. Judging someone is so easy now because there is no privacy, everything can be seen with a click
